       Dear Parent/Guardian:

In April, your 10th grade and/ or 11th grade student will participate in the Spring 2017 administration of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).  The CAASPP Assessment includes the following specific components: 10th grade - California Science Test (CAST)  &  11th grade - English and Math (SBAC). The CAST and SBAC are computer-based and results will provide valuable information about school-wide and individual student academic progress. It is extremely important that students do their best when taking these assessments.

Furthermore, students in the 11th grade who complete the SBAC ELA and Math assessments will receive a college readiness status through the integrated Early Assessment Program (EAP). Students who demonstrate readiness through the EAP can save time and money, bypassing placement exams at the California State University System (CSU). The EAP can ONLY be accessed through the SBAC assessment; we highly recommended that ALL eleventh graders take advantage of this opportunity.
