Common Core State Standards

Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are an updated set of curricular standards that have been developed with the intention of unifying curricula and standards across all 50 states. Schools in California will teach to these standards beginning with the 2014-15 school year. For more information click here EGUSD - Common Core State Standards .

For a summary of the CCSS in a short 3 minute video, please click on the following link CCSS Video .  This video was presented on our morning bulletin for all of our students to see.

Currently, the staff at Franklin High has been participating in professional development provided by the district, site, and outside programs to effectively assist in implementing these new standards.

Senior Saturdays at Sac City

SCC will host “Senior Saturdays” 8:30am – 2:00pm on February 28, March 14 and March 28. These events will offer high school seniors the opportunity to complete in ONE DAY, all steps in the “Getting-In” process. From New Student Orientation to Assessment Testing (including the essay portion, if needed) to Course Advising Workshops with SCC Counselors, students who successfully participate in a Senior Saturday event will have everything they need for a successful start at SCC.  You must complete the online application prior to registering for Senior Saturday.  See flyer and website attached for more information.

Kaplan SAT/ACT Cram Sessions

To help students of Franklin High School feel prepared, Kaplan will be hosting free last-minute prep for the April 18th ACT® and March 14th SAT®

Cram Sessions™ are  intensive, 90-minute online classes taught by expert Kaplan instructors.  Students will learn the most important material to boost their SAT and ACT scores - great for students who need just a little more prep or for those who want a refresher before test day.   Students will walk into Test Day feeling prepared and confident.

These sessions will help students:

• Raise their score with our Top 10 Strategies

• Manage their time like a pro on Test Day

• Get a day-to-day study plan up until Test Day

Free SAT and ACT Cram Sessions for the April 18th and March 14th test dates will be hosted from February 21st-March 8th.

CSU EAP Results & EPT/ELM test information

If you plan to attend a California State University there are assessment tests required for both English and Math (EPT/ELM). The deadline is April 17th to sign up for the LAST TEST at Sac State on May 2nd.  The Senior Disney Land Trip is on May 2nd.  If  you are planning to go, be sure to register for an earlier test date.   To sign up see website attached below -Choose "Find test locations and dates", then proceed to "Register for Test."   (To see which assessment test(s) you need to take see EAP Results at the website attached below and check your SAT Math (exempt if 550 and above) and Critical Reading Scores (exempt if 500 and above)

CDA Cares - March 27 & 28

Services offered include cleanings, fillings, extractions, stayplates (temporary partial dentures), dentures, oral health education and assistance in finding a dentist for ongoing care. Clinic doors will open at 5 a.m. each day so that treatment can begin at 6:30 a.m.

EGUSD provides workshops to provide parents and staff with mental health supports for their student's success within the school and home setting.  All of the workshops are held at the EGUSD office and are from 6:00-7:30PM. Call #916-681-7581 if you have any questions.
