Common Core State Standards

Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are an updated set of curricular standards that have been developed with the intention of unifying curricula and standards across all 50 states. Schools in California will teach to these standards beginning with the 2014-15 school year. For more information click here EGUSD - Common Core State Standards .

For a summary of the CCSS in a short 3 minute video, please click on the following link CCSS Video .  This video was presented on our morning bulletin for all of our students to see.

Currently, the staff at Franklin High has been participating in professional development provided by the district, site, and outside programs to effectively assist in implementing these new standards.

Vote for Animation Student PSA

Franklin High Animation 2 student Justin Lok was selected as a finalist in the Sacrament Bee Water Spots PSA contest. 

On Sunday, April 12, Rivercats fans at Raley Field will see the videos of all the finalists on the Jumbotron. The people's choice winner (as determined by online voting), and the first, second and third place winners (as determined by the judges) will be announced at the game.

SCC’s Allied Health Learning Community by April 1st


High school graduates between the ages of 18-20 who are interested in a career in health care.

Students must complete the following:

  1. Apply to Enroll as a student in Sacramento City College
  2. Complete the online orientation
  3. Attend an SCC Senior Saturday and complete the Reading, writing and math assessments
  4. Complete the AHLC online application (which will require attaching your Los Rios assessment results)


Priority Deadline:  March 1st, 2015.
However, additional applications will be accepted until April 1st, 2015 or until all seats in the program are filled.


  • A high school GPA of 2.0 or better
  • Completed Algebra 2 (Intermediate Algebra) in high school with a grade of “C” or better
  • Completed English 12 in high school with grade of “C” or better
  • Assessed into Math 100 or higher through the Los Rios Assessment process
  • Assessed into English Reading 310 or higher through the Los Rios Assessment process
  • Assessed into English Writing 101 or higher through the Los Rios Assessment process

Attention Seniors!  CRC's Elk Grove Center is offering Assessment testing for English and Math for the dates and times listed below.

CSU EAP Results & EPT/ELM test information

If you plan to attend a California State University there are assessment tests required for both English and Math (EPT/ELM). The deadline is April 17th to sign up for the LAST TEST at Sac State on May 2nd.  The Senior Disney Land Trip is on May 2nd.  If  you are planning to go, be sure to register for an earlier test date.   To sign up see website attached below -Choose "Find test locations and dates", then proceed to "Register for Test."   (To see which assessment test(s) you need to take see EAP Results at the website attached below and check your SAT Math (exempt if 550 and above) and Critical Reading Scores (exempt if 500 and above)

3/13:  Your graduation diploma should have your birth or legal name printed on it.  Come by the Registrar’s office by 3/13 to check how your name is printed on the senior list.  You may add a middle initial or middle name. We are ordering diplomas soon.
